Comparison Between Macbeth and Snow White
Snow White and Macbeth Act 1 scene 1 both have similar themes which is the effects of evil on making choices and influencing others. As well as the perpetrators of evil in this case both being "wicked witches" that have an influence on characters and the story itself. The three witches in "Macbeth" have an influence on Macbeth and his actions. If Macbeth didn't believe or misinterpret what the witches said to him he may never of killed the people he did or make the choices he made which led to his and his wife's tragic downfall. It was because the evil ideas of killing a king was less than his ambition of being king. The wicked witch/Queen from 'Snow White', also had an influence on the characters; she influenced Snow White to eat a poisonous apple out of envious beliefs about Snow White's threat to her " Fair" image.
Within these two stories, Macbeth and the Queen from 'Snow White' play the same role. Macbeth believes and interprets what the witches say which leads him to do evil and the Queen believes and interprets what her magic mirror says "You, my queen, are fair; it is true, but Snow-White is a thousand times fairer than you.” The Queen becomes envious and as long as she was not the most beautiful woman in the entire land her envy would give her no rest therefore she needed Snow White dead which relates back to 'Macbeth' killing Duncan due to the witches prophecy.
If they're were no witches or witchcraft in these two stories, then there would be no storyline, they create the storyline, the mischief amongst it and they bring the excitement to the story that keeps the audience guessing.
